Ellerman House

Basic Information

The Ellerman House in Cape Town by the Atlantic Ocean offers perfect views of Bantry Bay. It was named after its former owner, Sir John Ellerman, a shipping magnate, and his wife Lady Esther. Mansion was built 1906. Each of the 13 individually-styled rooms and two private villas exudes comfort and sophistication, featuring exquisite decor, eye-catching South African art and all the little touches that make for a seamless stay. The wine cellar holds over 9,000 bottles, many of them quite rare, in some cases impossible to buy at retail. Many of these fine wines are also available by the glass without compromising on quality, thanks to the Le Verre de Vin preservation system. Daily complimentary wine tastings accompany the start of sunset every day at Ellerman House. The cellar also offers 20-year-old brandies for special moments. Its breathtaking position inspires calm serenity while being in close proximity to the Cape’s numerous attractions.
