United Arab Emirates
Basic information
This cosmopolitan oasis with a total area of 83,600 km² is synonymous with ultra-modern architecture and the luxury life-style. It is an alchemy of futuristic vision and traditions of old. Hardly any destination will offer such an unforgettable experience. The United Arab Emirates was established on 2 December 1971 and comprises seven emirates: Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, and Fujairah. Abu Dhabi is the capital and the richest emirate, differing from the other emirates by its green oasis of parks and gardens. Large trees flank the boulevards and waterfront promenades. Dubai embodies a world of infinite possibilities. Visit the Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, and the Dubai Mall, the world’s largest shopping mall. The Burj Al Arab, a hotel resembling a ship’s sail, stands on an artificial island and has become Dubai’s icon. In addition to these attractions, you can spend your time in the dazzling gold of the Souk Al Bahar, where more than 200 jewellers sell their gorgeous products at great prices. Children will love Wild Wadi and Aquaventure Waterpark. We can guarantee that you will long remember the Emirates and its top attractions.
Weather and location
The United Arab Emirates offers sunshine throughout the year; daytime temperatures seldom drop below 22 °C. For travels, we recommend the autumn months of October and November, and then the period from the end of February until May, when temperatures average around 30 °C. As clouds and rain are rare there, you can look forward to nice views at sunset.
